Silent Activation Steps

Simply installing the browser extension is not enough to start detecting SaaS usage. During activation, information such as the "Josys Organization ID" and the "email address of the user registered in Josys" is passed to the extension. This process allows the extension to recognize "which organization and which employee is using the SaaS/application" and begin detection.

1. Creating a Configuration Profile

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center.
2. Go to "Devices" > "Manage devices" > "Configuration".
3. Click "+ Create" > "+ New policy".
4. Confirm that the "Create a profile" pane opens on the right side.
5. Enter the following details:
   Platform: macOS
   Profile type: Templates
   Template name: Preference file
6. Once entered, click "Create" at the bottom.

2-1. Configuring Google Chrome Settings

1. Once the screen changes, ensure that the "Basics" tab of the "Preference file" page is open, and enter the following details:
   Name: (e.g., Josys Chrome Extension Activation Policy for Mac)
   Description: (Optional)
2. Once entered, click "Next" at the bottom.
3. Once the screen changes, ensure that the "Configuration settings" tab of the "Preference file" page is open.
4. Replace "{Organization ID copied from Josys}" in the code below and paste it into a text editor like Notepad.
   *You can find your Organization ID by logging into Josys and clicking the icon in the top right corner.

5. Copy the above code, replace "Organization ID copied from Josys" in a text editor, and save the file as "*****.plist".
6. Ensure that the saved file is a Properties file source file.
7. Return to Intune and enter the following details:
   Preference domain name: com.google.Chrome.extensions.moaklgcgokbgplldonjkoochhlefkbjf
   Property list file: Upload your plist file
8. Click "Next" at the bottom.
9. Proceed to Assigning Target Devices.

2-2. Configuring Microsoft Edge Settings

1. Once the screen changes, ensure that the "Basics" tab of the "Preference file" page is open, and enter the following details:
   Name: (e.g., Josys Edge Extension Activation Policy for Mac)
   Description: (Optional)
2. Once entered, click "Next" at the bottom.
3. Once the screen changes, ensure that the "Configuration settings" tab of the "Preference file" page is open.
4. Replace "{Organization ID copied from Josys}" in the code below and paste it into a text editor like Notepad.

3. Assigning Target Devices

1. Scope tags are optional. Click "Next" at the bottom again.
2. Once the "Assignments" tab is open, select the devices where you want to perform the silent installation.
   *To install on all devices, click "+ Add all devices".
   *If you want to test on a small number of devices first, create a group containing only the test devices.
3. Once configured, click "Next" at the bottom.
4. Once the screen changes, click "Create" at the bottom.

This completes the silent activation settings.
