This page explains how to create app integrations and integrate applications other than Josys's supported apps.
Overview
This page explains how to create app integrations and integrate applications other than Josys's supported apps.
Target Audience
- Josys IT Administrators
- Customers who have created custom apps and are managing them manually
Key Features
Josys has apps that can be integrated and apps that cannot. Apps that can be integrated with Josys are referred to as "supported apps."
For Josys to add more supported apps, the target app must have open APIs, meaning not all apps can be integrated. In such cases, you may have manually created them as "custom apps."
But, by using Josys's AI Integration Builder, you may be able to automatically retrieve information even for non-supported apps. To do this, the target app must meet the following conditions:
- Apps that allow login using a username and password, without two-factor authentication (2FA) or IP address restrictions.
- Apps where the user list can be viewed.
- Apps that do not display pop-up guides or overlays after logging in.
- Apps that do not have bot protection or similar security features implemented.
Since this login is performed in the same manner as a regular user login, it will be recorded in the target app's login history or audit logs.
Prerequisites
- Configuration is supported only on Google Chrome.
- The Josys Browser Extension must be installed.

How to Configure App Integration
1. Preliminary Setup
- Access chrome://extensions/.
- In the detailed settings of the Josys extension, turn ON "Allow in Incognito."
2. Creating an App Integration
- From the Josys left sidebar menu, click "Integrations > App Catalog."
- Scroll to the bottom and click "Add New App."
- A window will open on the right side.
- When creating an app integration for the first time, consent is required. Click "Agree" in the top right corner.
- A pop-up will appear; click "Agree" again.
- Enter the app details. Input the App Name and the App Login URL.
- Click "Verify App."
- The steps required for integration will be displayed. Click the "Create App Integration" button in the bottom right corner.
3. Configuring App Integration
Log in to the App
- The URL you entered earlier will open in a new window.
- A guide will appear in the bottom right corner of the login screen.
- Click "Start" displayed next to "Log in with credentials."
Once clicked, the guide will be hidden. - Log in to the app again.
- After logging in, please wait until the guide appears in the bottom right corner again.
- The guide will appear in the bottom right corner.
- After completing the login, click the "Done" button.
4. Configure the App User List
- Click "Start" displayed next to "Go to App User List."
- Open the app's account list page (the list of users who can log into the app itself).
- Once you have navigated to the user list, click the guide to complete the navigation step.
- When "App User Details" appears in the guide, click it, and then click the "Start" button inside.
-
When the guide "Select 3 Email IDs" appears in the bottom right, click three different email addresses in the column that displays user email addresses on the user list screen.
*In the screenshot example, click three email addresses in the "EMAIL ADDRESS" column.*If there is no email address column on the screen (or if the ID is not an email address), click "Skip" to proceed with the integration without email addresses. In this case, configuring the "Username" in the next step is required.
Note that if you skip the email address step, the imported accounts will be registered as "Unmanaged Users." - Configure Username, Role, License, Last Used Date, Status, and MFA in the same manner.
For any fields that do not have a corresponding column, click "Skip."
*MFA: Select this if there is a column indicating whether MFA is enabled.
*If you skipped selecting email addresses in the previous step, selecting the Username is required. - Next, specify whether pagination or scrolling is required.
Select "Yes" if you need to scroll to display all users, or if you need to navigate to the next page to load all users. - Select the pagination/scroll type.
- Record the pagination. Click "Start."
- Even if the number of accounts is small and the "Next" button cannot be clicked, click "Next" or "Previous" to complete the step.
- Once completed, click "Back to Josys."
- The opened window will close.
Verify Data in Josys
- Once you are back on the Josys screen, click "Verify Data and Add App" in the bottom right corner.
- Once the app integration build is complete, click "Add App" in the bottom right corner.
Steps to Delete an App
- From the Josys left sidebar menu, click "Integrations > App Catalog" and select the target app (e.g., status is "Integration Failed").
- The details will be displayed on the right side of the screen. Click the "Discard App" button in the bottom right corner.
- When the confirmation screen "Are you sure you want to discard?" appears, click the red "Discard" button.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. The guide in the bottom right corner does not appear.
A: Please check your extension settings. Access chrome://extensions/ and turn ON "Allow in Incognito" in the detailed settings of the Josys extension.
Q. An error occurred during the process.
A: An error will occur in the following cases, so please start over from the beginning:
・If you reloaded the page while creating the integration.
Additionally, integration cannot be created in the following cases:
・If SSO login or two-factor authentication (2FA) is configured.
・If IP address restrictions are enabled.
・If a guide or overlay is displayed on the target app.
・If bot protection features (such as F5 Bot Defense) are implemented.
・If the HTML structure of the login page or other pages is inconsistent or unclear.
Q: The app integration status changed to "Under Review." What action is required?
A: "Under Review" indicates that the app integration process in the AI Integration Builder could not be completed successfully for some reason.
When this status occurs, Josys engineers will investigate the specific cause of the integration failure and work to resolve it. Therefore, no additional action or response is required on your part.
Once the investigation and resolution by our engineers are complete, the status will automatically change to "Ready to Use," so please wait.
Q: Can I cancel an app integration if its status becomes "Under Review" during creation?
A: You cannot cancel or delete an app integration yourself while its status is "Under Review." If you wish to cancel the integration, please contact our support team.
Q: If IP address restrictions (whitelisting) are enabled on the target app, can I integrate it by whitelisting Josys's IP addresses?
A: No, you cannot. The AI Integration Builder does not provide static IP addresses for integration, so it does not support integrating apps that require disabling IP address restrictions or registering IP whitelists.
Q: Is administrator invitation or activation required to use the AI Integration Builder after installing the "Josys Browser Extension"?
No, it is not required. You can use the AI Integration Builder feature immediately after installing the extension without performing any activation. Browser extension activation is only required when using the App Discovery feature.
Q: The app integration status changed to "Integration Failed." Can I check the cause?
You can check the reason for the failure of the target app on the "App Catalog" screen.
For example, if access to the target app is restricted by IP address or VPN, the following message will be displayed and the integration will fail:
"This application is not supported because it can only be accessed via an allowed IP address or VPN."
Apps with such restrictions are not supported by the AI Integration Builder. If this message is displayed, please verify whether the integration requirements are met.
Q: After completing the app integration setup, the account information is not syncing.
A: During the app integration setup steps, you may have incorrectly mapped non-email fields, such as "Name" or "User ID," during the email address selection step. If incorrect data is mapped as the email address, the system will ignore that information as non-syncable, and the data will not be reflected.
If this occurs, please discard the integration by following the "Steps to Delete an App" and recreate the app integration with the correct mapping settings. If the target app does not have an email address field, make sure to click "Skip" during the email address selection step.
