This page explains how to create and edit device models for IT devices in Josys.
Overview
In Josys, you can set images for IT device models.
This makes it easier to visually identify devices when checking the inventory list or assigning IT devices to employees.
⚠️Please note that when you register a device by entering a new model name on the Devices screen,
that model is automatically created in the device models list.

Creating a New Device Model
Follow these steps to register a new device model.
- Open the device models list screen.
Click "Settings > Device Models" at the bottom of the left sidebar menu. - Go to the registration screen.
Click "+ Register" in the upper right corner of the screen. - Register the information.
Enter the model name and upload an image if necessary. - After entering the information, click the "Register" button in the bottom right corner of the screen to complete the process.
Adding or Changing an Image for a Registered Device Model
Follow these steps to add or update an image for an existing device model.
- Open the device models list screen.
Click "Settings > Device Models". - Go to the edit screen.
Click the "three vertical dots" icon in the upper right corner of the device model you want to edit, and click "Add Image". - Update the information.
Modify the details and click "Save" in the bottom right corner to complete the process.
Deleting a Registered Device Model
Delete device models that are no longer needed from the master list.
*Note: Deleting a device model will also remove the model information from any IT devices currently registered with that model.
- Open the device models list screen.
Click "Settings > Device Models". - Go to the edit screen.
Click the "three vertical dots" icon in the upper right corner of the device model you want to edit. - Click "Delete Device Model" to complete the process.
