Overview
By integrating Lanscope, you can automate the addition and updating of devices. Device information from Lanscope can be imported into Josys's Devices ledger, serving as the master data for your device inventory.
What You Can Do
- Import device information from Lanscope into Josys's Devices ledger.
- If a device does not match any existing device in Josys, it will be automatically imported from Lanscope as a new device.

External Data Sources Integration Steps
- In the left sidebar of the Josys admin screen, select "Integrations > External Data Sources".
- Find the Lanscope app and click the "Integrate" button.
1. Select a Matching Key
- Asset Number
- UUID (Device Unique ID)
- Serial Number
2. Select an Asset Number Assignment Method
Please select the value to be assigned as the asset number for these devices.
1. Use a Lanscope field value as the asset number
The following fields can be configured:- UUID
- Asset Number
- Device Name
- Serial Number
3. Select a Device User Assignment Method
If Lanscope has a field (such as User Name or a custom field) that manages the email address of the device user, you can use that field to register the user in Josys. Select the Lanscope field to configure the mapping.
4. Configure Data Overwrite Settings
After Josys and Lanscope are linked, check the boxes for any fields where you want Lanscope's information to overwrite existing information in Josys. Even if changes are made in Josys, they will be overwritten by Lanscope's information after synchronization.
Click "Next" in the bottom right, confirm your settings, and then click "Integrate" in the bottom right to complete the process.
Screens After Integration
Details Screen
Device List Screen
- "Source" and the above list of fields will be available as display columns and filter options.
Behavior After Disconnecting External Data Sources
- You can choose whether to delete devices synced with Lanscope from Josys or keep them. If kept, the device source will change to "Josys". Even if deleted, the devices are not deleted from Lanscope itself; they are only removed as data from Josys.
- All fields displayed under "Other Retrieved Lanscope Items" will be removed from the screen.
FAQ
What happens if there are duplicate matching keys on the Lanscope side?
During data integration, the device first returned by Lanscope will be linked to the Josys device. Subsequent devices will be created as new devices based on your asset number assignment rules.
What should I do if serial numbers do not match correctly and duplicate devices are accidentally created?
Since devices synced with Lanscope cannot be deleted, you will need to delete the device originally registered in Josys and use the device imported from Lanscope.
You can easily transfer the usage history by exporting and importing it via CSV file.
What happens if I edit the serial number used as the matching key after linking the device with Lanscope?
Even if the matching key is edited, duplicate devices will not be imported again.
What happens if there is an asset number conflict (e.g., the asset number mapped from Lanscope already exists in Josys)?
A new device record will be created with the prefix "SYS", and "SYS + sequential number" will become the asset number of the newly created device.
What happens if the asset number mapped from Lanscope is blank?
If the asset number is blank, an asset number starting with "SYS + sequential number" will be generated.
The External Data Sources integration is complete, but it is not reflected in the IT devices list.
If you have been using the app integration previously and IT devices are not displayed after setting up the External Data Sources integration, please try reconnecting the app.

If a device is deleted from Lanscope, will it also be deleted from Josys's Devices ledger?
No, it will not be deleted from Josys's Devices ledger. The sync with Lanscope will be disconnected, and the device will remain as data, similar to a manually registered device.
Q: I synced a device that has a user assigned on the Lanscope side, but the user is not automatically assigned in Josys's Devices ledger. Why?
Information for already linked devices is updated and reprocessed via automatic sync (daily sync) only in the following cases:
・When the "Last Check-in Date and Time" of the target device is updated on the Lanscope side and becomes newer than the last sync time stored in Josys.
・When you manually run a sync (manual master resync) on the Josys side.Solution:
If you want to immediately reflect user assignments or changes made in Lanscope to Josys's Devices ledger, please manually resync the corresponding integration from Josys's "Integrations" > "External Data Sources", or perform a sync process for the target device on the Lanscope side to update the last check-in date and time, and then wait for the automatic sync.Q: Even after manually running a master resync, Lanscope data is not linked and the automatic user assignment is not reflected.
If the target device has been inactive (offline) on the Lanscope side for a long time, or is temporarily excluded from Lanscope's management, Josys cannot link data or automatically assign users even if you run a resync.
Solution:
Please check the following steps:- Check if the target device has communicated (checked in) recently on the Lanscope side. If communication is lost, check the Lanscope agent or reinstall it to restore communication.
- Verify that the correct email address of the user is entered in the Lanscope custom field specified for user assignment.
- After the device becomes active and its information is updated on the Lanscope side, run the "manual master resync" again on the Josys side.
